Job summary

Cargomatic in Savannah, GA is seeking a hands-on Fleet Safety & Compliance Coordinator to support a 100+ truck fleet, focusing on DOT compliance, onboarding, IRP administration, and fuel-card management.

This on-site role emphasizes accurate records, cross-functional collaboration with Safety, Recruiting, Dispatch, Operations and Finance, and proactive problem-solving to keep drivers and equipment compliant and ready to operate.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on fleet safety or DOT compliance.
• Experience supporting a commercial trucking fleet (100+ trucks).
• Strong understanding of DOT/FMCSA regulations, HOS, ELDs.
• Experience with Samsara or comparable fleet safety platforms.
• Knowledge of IRP plates, registrations, permits, renewals.
• Experience onboarding drivers and fuel card programs.
• Understanding port/rail drayage operations.
• Familiarity with SCAC codes and port/rail requirements.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain DOT and FMCSA compliance and driver/equipment records.
• Monitor Hours of Service, ELDs, and driver logs.
• Oversee driver onboarding and fuel-card administration for the fleet.
• Coordinate IRP plate program, renewals, and registrations.
• Use Samsara and other systems to monitor compliance and fleets.
• Work with Operations, Dispatch, Recruiting, and Finance to ensure readiness.
• Prepare for internal audits and maintain accurate documentation.
