Job summary

World Group, via ContainerPort Group, is seeking a Fleet Manager for our Savannah, GA terminal to lead and support a fleet of owner-operators, ensuring on-time service and productive operations. You will foster strong relationships with drivers and customers while optimizing deliveries and maintaining safety standards.

You will build partnerships, monitor performance, assign equipment, and coordinate with the Customer Success team to keep shipments moving smoothly and efficiently in a dynamic

Qualifications

• HS diploma required.
• 2-5 years of intermodal/container transportation experience.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Experience working with fleet of contractors/owner operators.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strategic thinker in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to prioritize and execute time-sensitive tasks.
• Computerized dispatch tools experience (TMS).
• Strong MS Outlook, Excel, Teams and Word skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervise our fleet of owner-operators.
• Monitor and ensure delivery performance, fleet profitability and regulatory compliance.
• Assign equipment as needed.
• Plan deliveries to optimize load drops and pickups.
• Oversee fair distribution of loads among contractors.
• Coordinate with Customer Success to manage loads.
• Negotiate rates with contractors outside of ICOA.
• Develop relationships with contractors to improve performance and retention.
• Resolve disputes involving contractors with customers/terminals/rail.
• Monitor contractor compliance with DOT and safety rules.
• Coordinate required training for the fleet.
