Job summary

Market Wego in Louisiana is seeking a hands-on production team member to learn the food side from the ground up. You’ll be trained in sausage-making and smoking, while helping with daily kitchen production, prep, frying, and general store operations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with food, staying busy, and learning a skilled trade. Perks include an employee meal program, two weeks PTO, and an employee discount.

Qualifications

• Dependability and a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to learn sausage making and smokehouse production.
• Ability to work quickly and stay organized.
• Comfort working around raw meat, fryers, smokers, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Attention to cleanliness and food safety.
• A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
• Food production or kitchen experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to make, season, stuff, and link our fresh sausage
• Assist with smoking sausage, meats, and other Market Wego products
• Prepare ingredients and complete daily food prep
• Fry cracklins, boudin items, seafood, and other menu items
• Package, label, and stock fresh and prepared foods
• Maintain clean and organized kitchen and production areas
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
• Help receive and organize inventory and supplies
• Jump in wherever needed to help the store operate smoothly
