Job summary

Kennedy International School in New York is seeking a part-time Assistant Director of Academic Affairs to oversee all academic affairs for our Saturday School for the 2026-2027 school year.

The position runs on Saturdays from 8am to 4pm, with additional hours during the week as needed. The role focuses on teaching and learning, curriculum planning, and faculty management, reporting to the Saturday School Director.

Qualifications

• Three years of teaching experience in elementary or middle school required.
• Japanese fluency is required.
• Japanese elementary or middle school teaching certification required.
• Leadership experience in guiding and supporting faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and evaluates a Japanese-language curriculum aligned with the school’s mission and student needs.
• Develops annual, unit, and weekly lesson plans to maximize instructional time with rigor in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
• Coordinates curriculum alignment across grade levels and kanji progression.
