Job summary

The Salvation Army SATS Counselor position is located at the ADOC SATS program in Alaska. You will manage a caseload, conduct SBIRT and ASAM assessments, develop treatment plans and coordinate referrals under contract terms with ADOC.

Qualifications

• Alaska State Counselor Technician Certification is required.
• Knowledgeable of Substance Related and Addictive Disorders and its treatment.
• Experience aligned with Alaska CDCI requirements; CDCII preferred.
• Able to obtain Alaska State CDCI Certification within 1 year from hire.
• Must have Counselor Technician certification or equivalent.
• Must pass ADOC background check and PREA screening.

Responsibilities

• Conduct SBIRT and ASAM assessments; orient new clients; develop treatment plans; referrals and reentry planning.
• Facilitate groups addressing chemical dependency, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, and related issues.
• Monitor client compliance with treatment goals and curriculum work.
• Complete documentation timely, in compliance with contract requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
