Job summary

SpaceX is hiring a Manufacturing Specialist for Satellite Transceiver production in Washington. The role focuses on introducing new configurations, training technicians, and operating microelectronics assembly equipment including die/wire bonding and SMT processes.

The position requires a high school diploma or higher with 2+ years in manufacturing or a STEM degree. Candidates should demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in a hands-on manufacturing environment or a bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, or science
  • Experience with microelectronics manufacturing processes (die/wire bonding), SMT, or silicon packaging is preferred
  • Experience with MIL-STD-883 test methods and procedures
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed schematics and engineering drawings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong desire to learn quickly, adapt, and innovate
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage new configuration introductions into production on aggressive timelines
  • Identify and train production technicians on new or updated processes
  • Program and operate microelectronics assembly machines (die/wire bonding)
  • Train technicians to run/troubleshoot complex machines
  • Create and support equipment maintenance and calibration schedules
  • Perform Design of Experiments for process improvement
  • Design and implement assembly fixtures and shop aids to improve manufacturing processes
  • Specify equipment requirements for new PCBA build processes
  • Implement standard practices, troubleshooting guides, and standard repair procedures
  • Assess non-conforming hardware and drive corrective actions
  • First level triage of production yield issues and hardware failures
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, test, and design teams on design for manufacturing
  • Improve manufacturing systems to increase rate capability
