Job summary

Amazon Leo in Redmond, WA seeks a Thermal Flight Operations Engineer to support the full lifecycle of its satellite constellation, from ground verification to on-orbit monitoring and decommissioning.

You will build automation, dashboards, and tools, collaborating with Thermal Design Engineers and the Mission Operations team to ensure safe, scalable thermal control and rapid anomaly response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 3+ years in thermal engineering, spacecraft operations, or systems engineering.
• Proficiency in Python or a similar language.
• Experience with real-time monitoring and anomaly response.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools and telemetry dashboards.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer and thermodynamics.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and on-call.
• Experience with version control systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute defined thermal operational responses and monitor system health across the constellation.
• Develop and maintain automated procedures, dashboards, and alerting tools.
• Investigate in-flight thermal anomalies and support flight data analysis with design teams.
• Coordinate with Mission Operations and Thermal Design Engineers; document procedures.
