Job summary

Vantor Inc. is hiring a Satellite Operations Engineer to join our Longmont, CO team onsite on a rotating 5-week schedule.

The role requires US citizenship, an active Secret clearance, and experience supporting spaceflight operations to ensure spacecraft health and mission success. You will monitor ground control communications, coordinate with Flight Ops and Engineering on anomalies, generate reports, and maintain proficiency across spacecraft subsystems.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret security clearance.
• Associate's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field (or 2 extra years of experience).
• Minimum of 2 years in an operational environment.
• Requires 24/7 rotating shift work on a five-week schedule.

Responsibilities

• Routinely verifies ground control communications with Mission Control Systems to ensure reliable links with spacecraft.
• Ensures spacecraft tasking and planning outputs minimize fault risk to the spacecraft.
• Performs in-contact spacecraft commanding and health assessments to maintain spacecraft safety.
• Analyzes out-of-contact telemetry to monitor health when spacecraft are out of ground-station view.
• Investigates limit violations and escalates to Flight Ops Manager or Spacecraft Engineering.
• Raises anomalous spacecraft conditions to Flight Ops Manager or Mission Director.
• Keeps awareness of system changes to ensure operational compliance.
• Follows procedures and reports deficiencies to the Operations Efficiency and Transition team.
• Generates spacecraft availability reports for the Spacecraft Engineering team.
• Executes ground limit changes as directed to reflect current operating state and telemetry trends.
• Maintains proficiency on all spacecraft subsystems across the Vantor constellation.
