Job summary

Vantor is seeking a Mission Director in Longmont, CO to lead 24/7 Mission Operations Center activities for satellite constellation and ground infrastructure. You will oversee an integrated ground/flight operations team, ensure mission success, and drive cross-functional coordination across engineering, training, production, IT, and planning.

The role requires a U.S. citizen with active clearance, a relevant bachelor's degree, and 5+ years in operations/technical PM, plus 3+ years

Qualifications

• US citizen with active security clearance and ability to obtain higher clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field; degree can be substituted with 4 years of experience.
• Minimum 5 years in Operations Management or Technical Project Management.
• Minimum 3 years troubleshooting technical issues.
• Ability to support 24/7 rotational shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead an eight-plus person shift team across ground/flight operations, planning, and production.
• Ensure mission success and system performance to meet customer requirements 24/7.
• Draft, validate, and enforce operational procedures and training.
• Maintain high situational awareness within the Mission Operations Center.
• Build relationships with spacecraft support and engineering teams.
• Coordinate daily with operations leadership and regional planning teams.
• Communicate operational status, milestones, and incident management clearly.
• Act as incident commander to prioritize and recover anomalies.
• Inform external customers about capabilities, planned maintenance, and mitigations.
• Interview, train, coach, and develop team members; drive corrective actions.
