Job summary

Verizon Communications seeks a Network Engineering and Operations Engineer to install, monitor, test, and maintain earth station telecommunications equipment and RF/IF/baseband systems, ensuring high reliability and service quality. The role requires a degree or 1+ years of relevant experience, Satellite Network Communications and IP Technologies expertise, and a valid driver’s license.

Willingness to work 24x7 shifts, with on-site work at our defined location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 1+ years relevant experience demonstrated through work or military service.
• Experience in Satellite Network Communications.
• Experience in IP technologies.
• A valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor, test and maintain earth station equipment per specifications and procedures.
• Use test, measurement and diagnostic equipment to analyze, troubleshoot and restore digital services.
• Follow SOPs to ensure effective results across workflows.
• Monitor vendor activities and remote teleports when needed.
• Track service levels and escalate issues per procedures.
• Assist with installation and testing of satellite/network equipment and wiring.
• Coordinate testing and service turn-up with involved parties, including government and international customers.
• Perform site operations with minimal supervision during eight-hour shifts; initiate restoration during power failures.
• Build strong working relationships with internal and external teams to complete tasks.
