Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a senior engineer to lead the sustainment of satellite ground software. The role combines software development, systems engineering, and program management to drive impactful results on mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (CS or Systems Eng) with 12+ yrs experience; or master's with 10 yrs; or PhD with 8 yrs.
Active Top Secret clearance required at time of application.
Experience with satellite operations.
Demonstrated leadership of teams of 6+ engineers.
On-site work daily; ability to interact with customers and translate requirements.

Responsibilities

Lead a software sustainment team of 10–15 engineers; organize work and ensure timely fixes.
Chair the Government Defect Review Board (GDRB) with government stakeholders.
Own the bug-fix flow and improve cycle time and predictability.
Use data to drive decisions on team efficiency and defect metrics.
Be a technical bridge between development teams, program leadership, and customers.
Cost Account Manager for the Sustainment team within EVMS targets.
