Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Spacecraft Flight Operations Engineer to perform real-time operations, plan mission support, and respond to on-orbit events. Extensive telemetry analysis and software tools will be used to ensure mission success.

You will join a team supporting rotating shifts, with extensive training leading to advanced qualifications. Citizenship and security clearance are required due to government program involvement.

Standard Job Description

Conducts mission/program specific real time spacecraft/satellite flight operations during readiness, execution and evaluation phases. Develops detailed plans and procedures to provide maximum mission support in areas such as orbit dynamics, satellite performance analysis, command and control of on-orbit satellites. Provides technical direction for on orbit mission support, plans for critical vehicle malfunctions and recommends alternate operating techniques to continue maximum mission support. Provides failure analysis of the performance of the orbiting satellites via telemetry data. Utilizes system software to accomplish all spacecraft control tasks and recommends improvements. Analyzes and validates software performance. Performs flight length orbit adjust and daily special event studies.

In this role, you may support a 24/7 crew or direct support day staff position within Flight Operations. You must be willing to work rotating shifts to be considered. We will train you through an extensive education and certification program to utilize your current engineering skills in support of an important customer mission. The successful candidate will build upon their current engineering skills with an extensive education and certification program to enhance your current skills in support of an important customer mission.
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00
