Lockheed Martin seeks a talented Satellite Mission Engineer (Level 4) with an active TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance to support operations from Fort Belvoir, VA. The role focuses on real-time spacecraft flight operations, orbit dynamics, and mission support across readiness, execution, and evaluation phases.

You will develop procedures, provide technical direction for on-orbit support, and coordinate with multiple sites to implement mission-ready capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience or understanding of spacecraft operations.
• Experience supporting critical operations.
• An active TS/SCI w Poly clearance is required for consideration.
• Experience in System integration, Planning, Software testing, System modeling or analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conducts mission/program specific real time spacecraft/satellite flight operations during readiness, execution and evaluation phases.
• Develops detailed plans and procedures to provide maximum mission support in areas such as orbit dynamics and satellite performance analysis.
• Provides technical direction for on orbit mission support and plans for critical vehicle malfunctions.
• Provides failure analysis of the performance of the orbiting satellites via telemetry data.
• Utilizes system software to accomplish all spacecraft control tasks and recommends improvements.
• Analyzes and validates software performance.
• Performs flight length orbit adjust and daily special event studies.
• Lead a small shift team.

THE WORK

Lockheed Martin is seeking a talented level 4 Satellite Mission Engineer with an active TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance to work from our Fort Belvoir, VA location.

In this role as a Satellite Systems Engineer, Staff you will have the opportunity to conduct and lead mission/program‑specific operations during readiness, execution, and evaluation phases. You will develop detailed plans and procedures to provide maximum mission support in areas such as orbit dynamics and performance analysis, provide technical direction for mission support, plan for critical activities, and provide alternate operating techniques. You will have the opportunity to work with different organizations and sites to implement various efforts across the IC. This includes resiliency test and tactics development as well as ops development.

During the initial training period, you will learn the system and may concurrently support tools creation, data analysis, and maintenance. This position requires the completion of a formal training program and certification to perform duties.

This position will require 24x7 rotating shift work in support of program activities and will lead a small shift team.

Pay Information

Full‑Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00
