Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Harness Engineer to conceptualize, design, procure, test, and support integration for wiring harnesses across the satellite program. You will coordinate across mechanical, electrical and payload teams to deliver reliable harnesses for spaceflight.

The role emphasizes qualification testing, design reviews, and collaboration with suppliers. A strong mechanical engineering background and prototyping experience are required, with on-site work in Redmond, WA.

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with prototyping and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Harnessing design for satellite system interfacing across mechanical, electrical and payload owners.
• Support make vs buy decisions, design reviews, and implement manufacturing and integration plans.
• Engage component suppliers and harness manufacturing vendors for qualification.
• Design and produce power/data harnesses meeting electrical design requirements.
• Oversee harness qualification and acceptance tests for launch environments and mission life.
• Create 3D CAD routings, 2D drawings, schematics and installation drawings.
