Job summary

Amazon LEO is seeking a Hardware Test Systems Development Engineer to design, develop, and implement comprehensive test solutions for satellite payload phased array antenna hardware design verification. You will architect and operate test systems across bring-up to system levels, aligning with partners and defining acceptance criteria.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in hardware design and a strong background in Python/Java/Bash/Perl scripting, test planning, and lab equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with test plan development, building the necessary test bench infrastructure, developing tests and verifying the design.
• 5+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience.
• 3+ years of development/programming/scripting language (Python/Java/Bash/Perl) experience.
• Experience designing and planning test conditions, test scripts, and test data sets to ensure appropriate and adequate coverage and control.
• Experience using common electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, etc).

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, build, and operate hardware test systems for satellite hardware design verification at the bring-up, sub-system, and system levels.
• Drive alignment with key partners and stakeholders on verification strategy.
• Collaborate with design engineers to define test requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Build quantitative models (test coverage, reliability, throughput) to inform design trade studies and design modifications.
• Analyze test data and generate comprehensive test reports with recommendations.
• Perform root cause analysis on test failures, lead corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement of the test systems.
• Optimize test coverage, reduce test time, and improve measurement accuracy.
• Stay current with emerging test technologies and industry standards.
