Job summary

Elveo seeks a Software Engineer to join the Mission Operations team, focusing on the ground segment of our satellite constellation. You will design, build, and ship backend services and APIs that connect Elveo's global ground station network to our Mission Operations Software, enabling operators to command, monitor, and fly the constellation daily.

This role emphasizes software development with Python, FastAPI, and modern tech stacks.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional experience developing production software (Python, services or APIs).
Experience owning a service or system in production: design, shipping, operating, debugging.
Strong working knowledge of Linux environments and networking concepts.
Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and working with relational databases.
Familiarity with CI/CD and modern development practices (version control, code review, automated testing).

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services that schedule satellite contacts and process telemetry.
Build and evolve REST APIs and event-driven integrations between ground stations and Mission Operations tools.
Write production-quality Python and contribute to shared libraries and tooling.
Contribute to web dashboards using React/Vue and ensure observability of services.
Participate in MR reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code practices.
