Job summary

US Tech Solutions is seeking Teleport Engineering and Operations Engineers to install, monitor, test and maintain earth station telecommunications equipment and related systems. You will perform diagnostics, follow SOPs, and coordinate with government and international customers to ensure high service levels.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years in Satellite/IP networks, a valid driver's license, and willingness to work 24x7 shifts with on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor, test and maintain earth station telecommunications equipment per specifications and operational procedures.
• Perform testing and diagnostic procedures on equipment using test, measurement and diagnostic equipment to analyze, troubleshoot and restore digital services.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure effective results on workflows.
• Monitor vendor activities and remote teleports when necessary.
• Monitor the network for anomalies and handle issues from customers per procedures for escalations.
• Monitor service level and take appropriate actions to maintain it.
• Support the assembly, installation, configuration and testing of satellite and network equipment and associated cabling.
• Coordinate testing and turn up of service with all involved parties.
• Work with government, international and domestic customers to maintain service levels.
• Perform site operation with minimal supervision during shifts.
• Initiate emergency restoration procedures following equipment failures.
• Monitor earth station and terrestrial systems for proper operation.
• Establish good working relationships with internal/external departments to ensure timely completion of tasks.

• Teleport Engineering and Operations Engineers are responsible for the installation, monitoring, testing and maintenance of earth station telecommunications and associated equipment per specifications and operational procedures, Radio Frequency (RF), Intermediate Frequency (IF), and baseband technologies, along with other responsibilities including:
• Performing testing and diagnostic procedures on equipment according to published equipment standards with support. Use test, measurement and diagnostic equipment to analyze, interpret, troubleshoot, document and restore digital services.
• Following all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure effective results on all workflows.

Must Have Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or 3 or more years of work experience.
• Three or more years of experience in Satellite Network Communications.
• Three or more years of experience in IP Technologies.
• A valid Driver's License.
• Willing to work assigned shifts 24x7 365, scheduled and rotational coverage including last minute flexibility coverage as well as on-call rotations as needs of the business are presented.

Desired Skills

• A degree in Electronics/Telecommunications or extensive experience with RF/Satellite communications.
• CCNA/CCNP or other Cisco Certifications.
• Experience in /Other Satellite or IP Certifications.
• Three or more years of related experience in an associate’s degree in Electronics/Telecommunications or two to four years commensurate experience in RF/Satellite communications.
• Experience in RF Technologies/Satellite Communications from a military technical school or accredited technical school/university.
