Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Telemetry Engineering and Operations Engineer to install, monitor, test, and maintain earth station telecom equipment and RF/IP systems onsite in Andover, ME. The role requires 3–5 years in Satellite Network Communications and IP technologies, with a valid driver's license and willingness to cover 24x7 shifts.

You will work with government and domestic/international customers to ensure high service levels, monitor vendor activities, and coordinate testing and turn-up

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of work experience.
• 3+ years experience in Satellite Network Communications.
• 3+ years experience in IP Technologies.
• A valid Driver's License.
• Willing to work assigned shifts 24x7 365, scheduled and rotational coverage including last minute flexibility coverage as well as on-call rotations as needs of the business are presented.

Responsibilities

Teleport Engineering and Operations Engineers are responsible for the installation, monitoring, testing and maintenance of earth station telecommunications and associated equipment per specifications and operational procedures, Radio Frequency (RF), Intermediate Frequency (IF), and baseband technologies, along with other responsibilities including:

• Performing testing and diagnostic procedures on equipment according to published equipment standards with support. Use test, measurement and diagnostic equipment to analyze, interpret, troubleshoot, document and restore digital services.
• Following all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure effective results on all workflows.
• Monitoring of vendor activities, and remote monitoring of other teleports when necessary.
• Monitoring the network for anomalies and handling issues from customers according to established procedures for management and technical escalations.
• Monitoring service level and take appropriate action to maintain.
• Supporting the assembly, installation, configuration and/or testing of satellite and network equipment (e.g., amplifiers, modems, routers, switches, multiplexers) and associated wiring and cabling
• Coordinating the testing and turn up of service with all involved parties.
• Working with government, international and domestic customers to maintain the highest level of service for their circuits.
• Performing site operation with minimal supervision during shifts.
• Initiating emergency restoration procedures following equipment failures.
• Monitoring earth station and terrestrial systems for proper operation.
• Establishing good working relationships with internal/external departments to ensure timely completion of various tasks.

• Three or more years of related experience in an associate’s degree in Electronics/Telecommunications or two to four years commensurate experience in RF/Satellite communications.
• Experience in RF Technologies/Satellite Communications from a military technical school or accredited technical school/university.
