Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist (Satellites) in Redmond, WA to support satellite manufacturing teams. You will reinforce safe work practices, calibrate EHS instrumentation, and participate in emergency planning.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (or 4+ years of EH&S experience) and experience with wastewater, air monitoring, and industrial hygiene. On-site work with comprehensive benefits and SpaceX stock programs is provided.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4+ years track record implementing environmental, health, and safety programs.
• Experience with wastewater systems and sampling preferred.
• Ability to work across teams and adapt communication styles.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wastewater and perform regular wastewater sampling.
• Install air monitoring devices and integrate PLC hardware.
• Calibrate and service EHS instrumentation.
• Conduct industrial hygiene studies and compare byproducts to health thresholds.
• Design and deploy EHS signage across SpaceX locations.
• Qualify PPE requirements through hazard analysis and standards review.
• Monitor air filtration efficacy and perform preventive maintenance.
• Test machine guarding devices and ensure safety compliance.
• Document job hazard assessments (JHAs).
• Conduct safety inspections and address deficiencies.
• Lead incident investigations and suggest corrective actions.
• Support emergency response planning and training.
• Create lockout/tagout procedures for complex cells and machinery.
• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling and labeling.
