Job summary

Serco Inc. seeks an Engineering Technician to join the Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport, supporting USW Electromagnetic Systems. You will work with SATCOM hardware, assist in OTA testing, and participate in crane/rigging operations for SUBHDR mast handling.

The role requires a High School Diploma, 5 years of related experience, and the ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance and CAC. Travel up to 10% may be required, with a strong emphasis on safety and QA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of related field experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Ability to obtain a CAC (Common Access Card).
• Capability to pass drug/background screening and DOT physical.
• Experience with SATCOM equipment favored.

Responsibilities

• Support SUBHDR Mast equipment integration and OTA testing for RFI readiness.
• Test APG after separation and pre-installation post-repair.
• Troubleshoot, set up tests, and manage configuration for SubHDR MEG.
• Assist crane crew for Mast movement to/from raised platforms.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain multiple products and equipment.
• Identify and repair failures, order replacement parts as needed.
• Evaluate customer needs to recommend suitable products/services.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, QA standards.
• Handle shipping/receiving of SUBHDR mast and materials.
