Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Test Automation Engineer for its government division in the United States. You will build automation frameworks and validate complex SATCOM and enterprise services across multi-site environments.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in programming, strong debugging skills, and experience with CI/CD tools. You will travel up to 10% and work three days per week from Carlsbad, Tempe, Duluth, or Reston offices.

Qualifications

5+ years’ experience with programming/scripting languages.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline.
Ability to comprehend complex system architectures and automate repetitive tasks.
Familiar with software configuration management tools: Perforce, Git, Artifactory, CVS.
Familiar with languages: C/C++, Java, Python, Bash, Ruby, etc.
SATCOM or wireless/RF systems experience.
Strong networking knowledge (IP, TCP, UDP, Multicast, MPLS, REST).
Familiar with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.).
Proficient in Linux environment and tools.
Excellent communication and teamwork.
Travel up to 10%.
US Citizenship and ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance.
Must be able to work 3 days/week at Carlsbad, CA / Tempe, AZ / Duluth, GA / Reston, VA offices.

Responsibilities

Develop the automation framework for all components of a global SATCOM network.
Automate validation, verification, and testing of complex SATCOM and enterprise services.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure robust performance and availability.
Automate the software development lifecycle tasks including requirements, tests, and CI.
