Job summary

Viasat is seeking a System Test Engineer to join our Government team in a hybrid on-site capacity at Carlsbad, CA or Germantown, MD. This role focuses on crafting test plans and executing tests for our latest government modem platforms, with lab setup and automation to support verification and field readiness.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in test development, is proficient with Linux, networking concepts, and lab instrumentation, and can obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years crafting test requirements, test plans, test cases and methodologies for manufacturing.
• Experience evaluating products from design documents and function.
• Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, boundary scan).
• Experience with networking tech (MAC, TCP/IP, UDP) and Linux-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans, procedures and test cases for government modem products.
• Support lab setup and automation for testing.
• Lead system test campaigns across satellite product families focusing on functionality and performance.
• Collaborate with system engineering, software and project teams on test planning and execution.
