Job summary

Viasat is seeking a capable engineer to shape its test infrastructure for spaceflight hardware. You will develop modern test architecture, automation, and analytics platforms to support development, qualification, and production tests.

You will own automated test architecture, create data pipelines and dashboards, and drive modernization of test workflows across multiple programs and teams. This is a site-based role with a 60%+ presence in a Viasat office or approved location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• Experience developing software apps using Python, C#, Java.
• Experience with automated test systems and hardware/software integration.
• Experience developing engineering tools, automation software, or test infrastructure.
• Experience working with structured data, databases, and data analysis.
• Ability to drive technical solutions from concept through deployment.
• Strong written and verbal communication across engineering fields.

Responsibilities

• Develop software and automation solutions to improve test execution.
• Build integrations between test systems, instrumentation, databases, and analytics.
• Create dashboards and interactive reports for reviews and management visibility.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop automated processing for FPY, pass/fail trends, SPC metrics, and measurement trending.
• Support deployment of software releases, debug, framework updates, patches, and configuration changes.
• Partner with test engineers to develop reusable test methods and workflows.
• Investigate test system issues and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Document software, architecture, standards, and guidelines for sustainability.
