Job summary

Linchpin Solutions, Inc. is actively seeking an experienced SATCOM Technician to support GAIT systems and related engineering activities in a dynamic IT and engineering environment.

The role requires an Active Secret Clearance, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and 2–4 years of SATCOM experience. A 24x7x365 NOC schedule and continuous system improvements are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is highly preferred.
• 2–4 years of relevant SATCOM work experience.
• Strong knowledge of SATCOM techniques and principles.
• Experience with IP networking principles.
• Experience working with military satellite systems and commercial SATCOM systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate unit equipment fielding needs and set up SATCOM systems to match fielding requirements and deployment location.
• Initialize systems and analyze malfunctions to perform preventative maintenance and ensure full operational compliance.
• Assess new equipment and software upgrades for integration into GAIT systems.
• Support development, upgrade, and rebuild of unit hardware to meet requirements.
• Adapt training courses and manuals to enable user certification for SATCOM GAIT systems.
• Update training curriculum to accommodate system upgrades and lessons learned.

Work Schedule

This role will support a 24x7x365 Network Operations Center in a rotating 12-hour shiftwork schedule.

Role Overview

The SATCOM Technician will perform engineering activities supporting the Global Agile Integrated Transport (GAIT). These activities include developing engineering plans and test plans, developing SATCOM-based architectures and frameworks, providing support to integrated product teams, and developing technology transition plans.

Specific Skillset & Duties

• Perform an evaluation of unit equipment fielding needs and set up SATCOM systems to match the fielding requirements and deployment location.
• Initialize systems and perform an analysis of/document system malfunctions and/or integration issues to perform preventative maintenance and ensure full operational compliance of systems.
• Perform engineering assessments of new equipment and software upgrades for integration into RHN GAIT systems.
• Support development, upgrade, and rebuild of unit hardware to meet unit requirements.
• Will adapt training courses to SATCOM GAIT systems operational user/maintenance manuals to enable user certification of commercial certifications and military system certifications.
• Perform updates to the training curriculum to accommodate system upgrades, evolving functionality, and lessons learned from system use.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is highly preferred

Experience Requirements

• 2-4 years of relevant SATCOM work experience
• Must have demonstrated knowledge of fundamental SATCOM techniques & principles
• Must have experience with Internet Protocol networking principles and various IP Transmission data
• Must have experience working with military satellite systems & knowledge of commercial SATCOM systems
