Job summary

Stratacent is seeking an SAS AML Developer in New York to design, develop, test, deploy, and optimize transaction monitoring scenarios on the SAS AML platform.

You will tune detection logic, calibrate thresholds, analyze alert volumes, and support model validation and regulatory reviews. The role requires a CS degree, SAS 9.4M9, SAS AML 7.2, SQL skills, and Linux scripting; experience with compliance and fraud controls is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent is required.
• Linux and Oracle Database understanding is required for the SAS application.
• Experience with SAS AML platform and transaction monitoring.
• Strong SQL skills and scripting abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AML transaction monitoring scenarios.
• Enhance existing scenarios to address emerging financial crime risks.
• Implement new detection strategies based on regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Configure scenario parameters, thresholds, and alert criteria.
• Support alert suppression and prioritization initiatives.
• Develop risk scoring methodologies for alert prioritization.
• Perform debugging and validation of monitoring logic and workflows.
• Support release deployments and scenario migrations.
• Participate in defect resolution and root cause analysis.
• Develop test cases and validation plans and execute UAT.

Stratacent is looking for SAS AML Developer who will be responsible for the design, development, enhancement, testing, deployment, and optimization of transaction monitoring scenarios within the SAS Anti-Money Laundering (AML) platform. The role supports regulatory compliance initiatives by maintaining effective detection capabilities while minimizing false positives and improving investigative efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AML transaction monitoring scenarios.
• Enhance existing scenarios to address emerging financial crime risks.
• Implement new detection strategies based on regulatory, business, and compliance requirements.
• Configure scenario parameters, thresholds, lookback periods, and alert criteria.
• Support customer segmentation and risk-based monitoring approaches.
• Analyse alert volumes and false-positive rates.
• Perform threshold calibration and scenario tuning.
• Support alert suppression and prioritization initiatives.
• Develop risk scoring methodologies supporting alert prioritization.
• Develop monitoring logic for: Structuring, Rapid movement of funds, High-risk geography activity, Funnel accounts, Velocity monitoring, large wire transfers, Dormant account activity, Trade-based money laundering, Behavioural anomaly detection
• Configure SAS AML 7.2 transaction monitoring components.
• Support alert generation workflows.
• Troubleshoot production scenario failures.
• Support release deployments and scenario migrations.
• Participate in defect resolution and root cause analysis.
• Develop test cases and validation plans.
• Execute UAT and production verification activities.
• Validate scenario performance and expected alert outcomes.
• Support model validation and regulatory reviews.
