Job summary

A&R Group in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead active commercial sites. You will own site operations from mobilization to final walkthrough, enforce safety, manage subcontractors, vendors, and crews, and keep the project on time and on budget.

You'll coordinate with the Project Manager, engineers, architects, and ownership, reading blueprints and guiding field staff. The role rewards hands-on leadership and a track record of delivering quality work.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of field experience in commercial construction.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience considered.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the daily workflow of the job site — supervising construction personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to keep task sequencing tight and productivity high.
• Build and manage 3-week lookahead schedules that align with the master project timeline and adapt to weather or site delays.
• Coordinate material and equipment deliveries, verify quantities and quality, and ensure proper staging and site security.
• Serve as the site's safety authority — enforcing OSHA standards, local codes, and company policy with discipline.
• Read, interpret, and enforce blueprints and specs, performing routine quality inspections.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a field team, and coordinate with Project Manager on budgets and labor/material estimates.
• Maintain daily field reports and manage RFIs to resolve field conditions quickly.
