About the role:
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Technical Analyst with specialized expertise in Workflow Configuration and Role-Based Permissions (RBP). The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience designing, implementing, and optimizing EC workflows and permission models across a global enterprise environment. This role will support both operational needs and transformation initiatives by ensuring secure, scalable, and user-friendly configurations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all aspects of Employee Central Workflows and RBP framework.
- Design and configure (hands on, single handedly) custom and complex workflows involving multiple steps, role resolutions, and escalation paths to support global HR processes.
- Develop and manage advanced Role-Based Permission structures with dynamic group management, target population definition, and granular security rules.
- Collaborate with global HR teams, IT, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into system design, document RBP Workbook and implement them with precision.
- Ensure adherence to global security, data privacy, and compliance standards by managing and auditing permission roles and assignments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve workflow or RBP-related issues, partnering with SAP support when needed.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including configuration guides, test scripts, and user access matrices.
- Partner with integration and reporting teams to ensure workflow-driven actions correctly trigger integrations and data flows.
- Stay up to date on SuccessFactors releases and recommend optimizations or new features related to workflows and permissions.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, specifically in:
- Workflow configuration (including auto-routing, conditions, and escalations)
- Role-Based Permissions (Dynamic Groups, Permission Roles, Permission Groups)
- Strong experience in cross-module security alignment, particularly with EC, Recruiting, Onboarding, and Time Off.
- Proficient in working within Provisioning and Admin Center, including managing RBP settings, data models, and workflow triggers.
- Solid understanding of HR data structures, employee lifecycle events, and their impact on workflows and permissions.
- Ability to translate functional requirements into technical configurations with clarity and efficiency.
- Strong documentation skills with attention to change control and audit readiness.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAP SuccessFactors certification in Employee Central
- Experience in global rollout projects involving EC security or workflow harmonization
- Familiarity with XML configuration for EC data models (is a plus)
- Exposure to User Sync, Integration Center, and instance comparison tools
- Experience with user provisioning automation (e.g., via SSO or SCIM) and data security policies
