Job Description:

Our client is seeking a SAP S/4HANA Project System (PS) consultant in the federal government sector. This person should have strong experience designing and supporting WBS structures, cost planning, budget controls, and settlement processes within SAP S/4HANA.

This role would be approximately 90% remote with intermittent travel.
Ideally, the candidate should also understand how PS integrates with FI/CO, CATS, and MM/AA, and have experience in a compliance-heavy, federally regulated environment. Familiarity with Funds Management and government cost allocation practices is a big plus.

Skills:

SAP PS (Project System)

• Deep hands-on experience with WBS structures, networks, activities, milestones, and billing elements

S/4HANA PS Module

• Familiarity with S/4-specific changes (like Universal Journal, ACDOCA integration)

Integration with FI/CO

• Understanding of cost planning, budget, and settlement processes

Project Budgeting & Controlling

• Use of PS with Funds Management (FM), Commitment Management, or Investment Management

CATS / Time Tracking Integration

• Experience linking PS to actual labor time confirmations (especially via CATS or external time systems)

Material & Asset Integration

• PS knowledge across MM (for project stock), and Asset Accounting (AA)

Settlement Profiles

• Ability to configure and explain how actual costs flow into cost centers, internal orders, or assets

Government Specific Needs:

• Experience in DOE, DOD, or similar government environments
• Familiarity with compliance, internal controls, and audit-friendly reporting
• Knowledge of cost allocations by WBS and Fund Center
• Bonus: Understanding of Funds Management (FM) if KCNSC is enforcing budgetary control

Soft Skills & Experience:

• Able to interface with finance, engineering, and IT stakeholders
• Comfortable with blueprinting, fit/gap, and user training
• Experience working in hybrid SAP landscapes (e.g., PeopleSoft + S/4)
