Job summary

Bristlecone is hiring a SAP QM Architect to lead end-to-end design and implementation of Quality Management within an S/4HANA environment in San Francisco. You will bridge complex business quality requirements with technical SAP excellence and oversee integration with production planning, materials management, sales and distribution, and finance modules.

You will drive data migration strategies, ensure compliance with industry standards, and own testing, documentation, and end-user training.

Qualifications

• 10+ years SAP QM experience with at least 2 full-cycle S/4HANA implementations in an Architect or Lead role.
• Deep knowledge of Quality Planning, Inspection, Control, and QM in Procurement/Production/Sales.
• Proven ability to integrate QM with PP (PI-Sheet/Digital Signature) and MM (Batch Management/Stock Transfers).
• Familiarity with ISO standards or GxP/FDA regulations (if applicable to the industry).

Responsibilities

• Solution Architecture & Design: Lead the design and implementation of SAP S/4HANA QM solutions, aligned with best practices and organizational goals.
• Business Analysis: Capture, analyze, and translate quality requirements into scalable technical blueprints.
• Configuration & Customization: Hands-on configuration of QM settings including Inspection Planning, Quality Certificates, Notifications, and Results Recording.
• Cross-Module Integration: Architect and manage integrations between QM and PP/MM/SD/FICO.
• Data Leadership: Plan data migration for Master Data and Transactional Data within S/4HANA.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure designs meet industry regulations and internal audit standards.
• Testing & Validation: Own unit testing, SIT, and UAT for new implementations.
• Documentation & Training: Create documentation and deliver training to end-users and power users.
• System Maintenance: Regular health checks and updates to leverage new S/4HANA features.

The SAP QM Architect will be responsible for the strategic design, end-to-end configuration, and successful implementation of Quality Management solutions within an S/4HANA environment

. This role requires a subject matter expert who can bridge the gap between complex business quality requirements and technical SAP excellence. You will lead the integration of QM with core supply chain and finance modules to ensure a seamless, compliant, and high-performance system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solution Architecture & Design: Lead the design and implementation of SAP S/4HANA Quality Management (QM) solutions, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational goals.
• Business Analysis: Collaborate deeply with business stakeholders to capture, analyze, and translate quality management requirements into scalable technical blueprints.
• Configuration & Customization: Hands-on configuration of SAP QM settings, including Inspection Planning, Quality Certificates, Notifications, and Results Recording.
• Cross-Module Integration: Architect and manage complex integrations between SAP QM and other key modules, specifically PP (Production Planning), MM (Materials Management), SD (Sales & Distribution), and FICO.
• Data Leadership: Orchestrate data migration strategies for both Master Data (Material Master, Inspection Plans, Work Centers) and Transactional Data within S/4HANA.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure all system designs meet relevant industry regulations, quality standards, and internal audit compliance.
• Testing & Validation: Own the end-to-end system testing lifecycle, including Unit Testing, SIT, and UAT for new implementations and enhancements.
• Documentation & Training: Create and maintain high-quality system documentation (Configuration Guides, BPDs, User Manuals) and deliver advanced training to end-users and power users.
• System Maintenance: Perform regular system health checks and updates to ensure optimal performance and leverage new S/4HANA functionalities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: 10+ years of experience in SAP QM, with at least 2 full-cycle S/4HANA implementations in an Architect or Lead role.
• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of Quality Planning, Inspection, Control, and QM in Procurement/Production/Sales.
• Integration Knowledge: Proven ability to integrate QM with PP (PI-Sheet/Digital Signature) and MM (Batch Management/Stock Transfers).
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO standards or GxP/FDA regulations (if applicable to the industry).
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical business owners.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. SAP S/4HANA certification is highly preferred.
