Job summary

Ilocatum in Omaha, NE is seeking a Purchasing Agent to ensure timely procurement of materials and services required for manufacturing operations. You will partner with Engineering, Operations and Quality to maintain cost-effective supply chain performance and manage SAP-based purchasing records.

The role calls for 2–3 years in purchasing, strong negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. ERP experience, especially SAP, is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required.
• 2-3 years of purchasing, procurement, or related experience.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders and procurement records in SAP.
• Monitor delivery schedules with key suppliers and critical deliveries.
• Monitor supplier performance and expedite deliveries as needed.
• Resolve supplier quality and delivery issues in partnership with internal teams.
• Approve invoice pricing and quantities.
• Maintain accurate purchasing data and set stocking levels.
• Work with Engineering, Operations, MRP, Sourcing, and Quality to procure goods and services.
• Prepare and execute purchase orders in SAP.
• Follows up on delivery schedules with key suppliers and critical deliveries.
• Maintain PIRs, transactional data, and procurement records in SAP to control costs and inventory levels.
• Discuss non-conforming goods with quality control personnel and vendors for corrective actions.
• Approve quantity and pricing for payment of invoices.
• Work with subcontracted outside services (e.g., zinc platers, galvanizers, calibration).
• Expedite delivery of goods and services to users/customers.
• Escalate delivery issues to appropriate departments.
