Job summary

ClearpointCo. is seeking an SAP PP Solution Lead in Houston, TX, to design and deliver production planning capabilities within a large SAP S/4HANA transformation. You will guide solution architecture, functional design, and configuration standards to support manufacturing operations and align with long-term technology strategy.

You will lead core SAP PP functionality, drive integration with WM/MM, manage BOM/routing, and mentor SAP PP analysts through deployment and post-launch activities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on SAP PP functional experience in a full-cycle SAP S/4HANA or ECC implementation.
• Advanced knowledge of SAP PP with related modules (MM, WM, QM, or demand planning).
• Experience with MRP, BOM management, routing, and production capacity planning.
• Experience delivering ERP/supply chain initiatives using hybrid Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Direct the SAP PP solution design for S/4HANA carve-out and transformation, including target architecture and strategic roadmap across production planning.
• Lead design and implementation of core SAP PP functionality: production orders, MRP, capacity planning, shop floor control, and repetitive manufacturing.
• Serve as the SAP PP expert and partner to IT, manufacturing, and supply chain leaders, advising on capabilities and risks.
• Establish and maintain design standards for production planning processes and system reliability.
• Conduct fit-gap assessments and oversee quality of designs, configurations, and solutions.
• Lead cross-functional design sessions translating business requirements into actionable recommendations.
• Oversee BOMs and routing updates with engineering changes.
• Participate in architecture governance and reviews for system integrations and master data standards.
• Define and coordinate testing activities (unit, integration, regression, UAT) for critical processes.
• Provide functional leadership during deployment, cutover, go-live, and post-launch support while coaching SAP PP analysts.

Position Summary

The SAP PP Solution Lead will play a key role in designing and delivering production planning capabilities as part of a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation. This individual will lead solution architecture, functional design, and configuration standards to support manufacturing operations and ensure alignment with the organization’s long-term technology strategy.

Duties

• Direct the SAP PP solution design for the S/4HANA carve-out and transformation, establishing target architecture, configuration guidelines, and a strategic roadmap across production planning, with integration to WM, MM, and demand planning.
• Lead the design and implementation of core SAP PP functionality, including production orders, material requirements planning (MRP), capacity planning, shop floor control, and repetitive manufacturing.
• Act as the primary SAP PP expert and strategic partner to IT, manufacturing, and supply chain leaders, advising on system capabilities, implementation risks, and future enhancements.
• Establish and maintain design standards for production planning processes, promoting clean-core practices, system reliability, scalability, and optimal performance.
• Conduct fit-gap assessments and oversee the quality of functional designs, configurations, and technical solutions.
• Lead cross-functional design sessions with manufacturing, production planning, and warehouse teams, converting business requirements and technical considerations into actionable recommendations.
• Oversee bills of material (BOM) and routing updates associated with engineering changes, ensuring production planning dependencies are identified and properly managed.
• Participate in architecture governance and review activities, providing direction on system integrations, master data standards, and material master alignment.
• Define and coordinate testing activities, including unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT), with a focus on critical processes such as MRP-to-procurement and production-to-warehouse.
• Provide functional leadership during deployment, cutover, go-live, and post-launch support while coaching and developing SAP PP analysts.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on SAP PP functional experience, including participation in a full-cycle SAP S/4HANA or ECC implementation. Experience with brownfield transformations, system carve-outs, or consolidations is highly desirable.
• Advanced knowledge of SAP PP and practical experience with at least one related module, such as MM, WM, QM, or demand planning.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes across engineered-to-order, configure-to-order, make-to-order, and make-to-stock environments.
• Demonstrated experience with MRP, BOM management, routing, and production capacity planning.
• Knowledge of master data governance and migration activities involving material masters, bills of material, and work centers.
• Hands-on experience with SAP Engineering Change Management (ECM), including change masters and change number processes.
• Experience delivering ERP or supply chain initiatives using hybrid Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and business leaders.
• Proven ability to coach and mentor junior and mid-level SAP analysts through complex projects and implementations.
• Understanding of integrations among SAP ECM, Quality Management (QM), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platforms; Teamcenter experience is preferred.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP certifications or relevant enterprise architecture framework certifications.
• Familiarity with public cloud, hybrid cloud, and on-premises infrastructure environments.
