Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company, through WECTEC Staffing Services, seeks a SAP Material Master Data Analyst to support creation, maintenance, and governance of material master data within SAP. This hybrid role located in Minneapolis, MN or Henderson, CO, interacts with Engineering, Procurement, and Supply Chain to ensure data accuracy.

You will research manufacturer part numbers, verify classifications, and coordinate material ID creation, while auditing records for duplicates and quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience interpreting technical specifications, catalogs, datasheets, equipment documentation, or engineering drawings.
• Experience in materials management, inventory control, warehousing, procurement, maintenance, or supply chain operations.
• Proficiency with Excel (sorting, filtering, lookup).

Responsibilities

• Research MPNs, specifications, catalogs, and vendor docs.
• Create Material ID requests with required data.
• Decide whether to reuse or create new Material IDs.
• Collaborate with Eng, Procurement, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Ops, vendors.
• Verify classifications, attributes, and specs for accuracy and governance.
• Audit records, identify duplicates, support data quality projects.
• Maintain documentation and support SAP Master Data governance.
• Advise on material IDs and data standards.

About the role:

Henderson, CO or Minneapolis, MN

We are looking for a SAP Material Master Data Analyst / Specialist to support the creation, maintenance, and governance of material master data within SAP. You will research manufacturer part numbers (MPNs) and gather technical specifications. You will also validate material information and coordinate the creation of material IDs. People use these IDs for purchasing, inventory management, and operational activities.

Reporting to the Manager of Material Master Data Governance, you will work with multiple team members. These team members include Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Maintenance, Operations, vendors, and manufacturers. Your goal is to ensure material data is accurate, standardized, and compliant with company data governance requirements. This hybrid position supports critical projects across power generation facilities, including power plants, wind farms, and solar facilities. While primarily office-based, we may require occasional visits to warehouses, storerooms, and operating sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research manufacturer part numbers (MPNs), technical specifications, catalogs, and vendor documentation to discover material information.
• Create Material ID requests by gathering required data and completing supporting documentation.
• Determine whether you can use existing Material IDs or if you must create new records.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Operations, vendors, and manufacturers to obtain missing information.
• Verify material classifications, attributes, and specifications to ensure data accuracy and governance compliance.
• Audit material records, identify duplicates, and support data quality improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate, traceable documentation and support SAP Material Master and data governance processes.
• Provide guidance on material identification, manufacturer part numbers, and material master data standards.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED
• Experience interpreting technical specifications, catalogs, datasheets, equipment documentation, or engineering drawings.
• Experience with materials management, inventory control, warehousing, procurement, maintenance, or supply chain operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, and lookup functions.
