SAP Master Data Specialist
Location: Milpitas, CA (Occasional travel to Santa Clara, CA)
Work Schedule: 100% Onsite, 5 Days per Week
Job Type: Contract (6 Months+, Potential Extension)
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an SAP Master Data Specialist to support a critical product expansion and design verification initiative within a fast-paced manufacturing and medical device environment. This role will play an important part in maintaining accurate product and manufacturing records, ensuring data integrity across systems, and supporting engineering and operations teams throughout the build process.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with technical documentation, and has hands‑on experience maintaining data within SAP.
What You'll Do
- Review manufacturing documentation and paper-based records to ensure accurate system updates.
- Enter and maintain product configurations, serial numbers, part numbers, and as-built records within SAP.
- Support BOM (Bill of Materials) maintenance and finished goods build tracking.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to validate product data and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of master data records.
- Support design verification and validation activities through accurate documentation and data management.
- Assist with tracking hardware rework and component reuse activities.
- Work primarily within SAP while supporting other systems such as Opcenter (MES) and Microsoft Dynamics as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of SAP experience in a manufacturing, operations, supply chain, or data management environment.
- Experience maintaining or updating master data records in SAP.
- Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering and operations teams.
- Ability to quickly learn new processes and systems.
- Proficiency reviewing technical documentation and translating information into system records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in medical device, biotechnology, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), particularly Opcenter.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics.
- Understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs), production builds, and configuration management.
- Exposure to design verification and validation processes.
