Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA in Salisbury, NC seeks a Manager III for SAP Basis/Tech Platform to lead SAP Basis operations, environment provisioning, and security governance within the Retail Spine program. You will collaborate with SAP, SI partners, and Enterprise Security to ensure high availability and compliant operations across S/4HANA and HANA DB.

The role requires 10+ years in SAP Basis and 3-5+ years in leadership, with strong cross-functional communication and strategy development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration and SAP technical platform management.
• 3-5+ years of experience leading teams or managing technical SAP operations.
• Strong technical expertise in SAP S/4HANA, HANA DB, SAP cloud operations, integration points, and cross-module Basis management.
• Experience with RISE and transport strategy, system refreshes, performance tuning, and patching.
• Proven experience engaging with Systems Integrators and multi-vendor delivery models.
• Strong understanding of SAP security, audit requirements, and platform-level compliance controls.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the relationship with SAP for all RISE with SAP operational and service delivery obligations.
• Manage end-to-end provisioning of SAP environments within the RISE framework.
• Oversee SAP Basis administration across Retail Spine landscapes, including performance tuning and patch lifecycle.
• Define and govern the SAP environment strategy and landscape design.
• Lead adoption and governance of SAP-native operational tooling for monitoring and automation.
• Own operational interface with SI and vendors, ensuring delivery quality and SLA adherence.
• Partner with SAP Architecture and Solution Architects to align platform operations with target architecture.
• Establish and maintain KPIs, observability, and performance baselines.
• Ensure SAP platforms comply with enterprise security standards and audit obligations.
• Define and maintain runbooks and governance documentation for SAP landscapes.
• Lead cutovers, go-lives, migrations, and major deployment events.
• Provide mentorship and engineering leadership to SAP Basis engineers.
