Job summary

Access Data Consulting Corporation in West Palm Beach, FL seeks a senior SAP architect to lead the SAP S/4HANA on RISE initiative and establish long-term in-house expertise as the Systems Integrator transitions off.

You will own end-to-end SAP landscape architecture, define a strategic roadmap, and guide governance through ARB processes, with focus on Clean Core and platform modernization.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of SAP architecture experience, with at least 5 years in SAP S/4HANA implementations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and move to SAP RISE.
• Strong mastery of SAP BTP and integration framework technologies (PI/PO, CPI, Event Mesh).
• Experience leading architectural governance, development standards, code reviews, and ARB leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture across SAP S/4HANA on RISE and related cloud environments.
• Define and maintain the architectural roadmap aligned with business processes (Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales/SD).

Our client is embarking on a massive, transformational SAP S/4HANA implementation on SAP RISE that will redefine how they operate. As they scale their evolving SAP Center of Excellence (CoE), they need a senior technical visionary to bridge a critical internal knowledge gap and establish long-term in-house expertise as the Systems Integrator (SI) rolls off.

In this high-impact, executive-level technical role within the Administration pillar, you will serve as the ultimate authority on enterprise SAP architecture, platform strategy, and "Clean Core" governance. You will see the complete enterprise picture—evaluating current state versus SAP best practices, defining where the environment needs to go, and guiding technical disciplines around that unified vision.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture & Strategy

• End-to-End Landscape Ownership: Own the technical architecture across SAP S/4HANA on RISE, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and associated cloud environments.
• Strategic Roadmap & BPO Alignment: Define and maintain the architectural roadmap, ensuring close alignment with Business Process Owners (BPOs) across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, and Sales/SD.
• Knowledge Transfer & Continuity: Serve as the internal anchor of SAP platform expertise, facilitating seamless knowledge transfer and reducing reliance on external Systems Integrators as they transition off.
• Transformational Innovation: Expand and modernize existing SAP capabilities by evaluating emerging technologies, such as SAP AI Core and Advanced Analytics.

Technical Governance & "Clean Core" Leadership

• Clean Core Enforcement: Act as the final authority on system modifications, enforcing a strict Clean Core philosophy while accommodating strategic exceptions (e.g., highly customized Sales/SD environments that drive competitive differentiation).
• Development Standards & BTP Extensions: Establish and enforce development standards, guiding teams to utilize SAP BTP for extensions rather than modifying core S/4HANA source code.
• Architecture Review Board (ARB) Leadership: Chair or play a lead role on the ARB to protect solution quality, conduct effective code reviews, and ensure technical decisions support long-term strategy without blocking business progress.

Platform Performance, Infrastructure & Resilience

• Platform & BASIS-Level Strategy: Own high-level platform architecture questions regarding sizing for future transaction volume, system resilience, high availability, failover, and disaster recovery (DR) plans.
• Crisis Management Architecture: Define protocols and capabilities for environment flexing and system management during periods of peak transaction volume or operational stress.

Integration & Ecosystem Mapping

• Integration Architecture: Architect secure, low-latency integration patterns between SAP and third-party systems (e.g., procurement portals, HRIS, fleet management).
• Platform Stewardship: Partner closely with the Master Data Architect—acting as joint stewards of the SAP platform to ensure technical infrastructure and data governance deliver a true "Single Source of Truth."
• Workforce Systems Integration: Collaborate with federated Workforce Systems teams where S/4HANA data and screens intersect.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Experience: Minimum of 10–15 years of experience in SAP architecture, with at least 5 years specifically focused on SAP S/4HANA implementations.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• SAP RISE & Architectural Depth: Deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA overall architecture, with hands‑on experience evaluating, planning, or executing a move to SAP RISE.
• Technical Breadth: Strong technical mastery of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and integration framework technologies (SAP PI/PO, CPI, Event Mesh).
• Governance Leadership: Proven experience establishing development standards, conducting code reviews, and leading Architectural Review Boards (ARB) enforcing Clean Core principles.
• Technical Leadership: Exceptional technical depth and authority, with the ability to articulate both what needs to happen and why to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders (formal management experience is a plus, but technical mastery is paramount).
