HR On Demand is seeking a hands-on SAP ABAP specialist for our client’s new manufacturing site in Hutto, TX. You will lead ABAP development for S/4HANA, focusing on PP and MM, and connect SAP with MES systems, working with Taiwan HQ IT.

Responsibilities include end-to-end implementation, data migrations, and building interfaces using IDoc, BAPI, RFC, and OData, while collaborating with business users and SAP consultants on rollouts and upgrades.

Formación

• 3+ years hands-on ABAP development (RICEFW, ALV, forms, enhancements).
• At least one full S/4HANA implementation, not only support or remediation.
• Manufacturing experience with PP and MM; SAP-shop floor/MES integration (IDoc, BAPI, RFC, OData).

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, test, and maintain ABAP objects for RICEFW, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
• Build ALV and custom reports for production, inventory, purchasing, and finance users.
• Develop enhancements using BAdIs, user exits, and the Enhancement Framework.
• Use S/4HANA development tools (CDS views, AMDP, OData) to improve performance and reporting.
• Participate in end-to-end S/4HANA implementation for the Hutto site: design, build, test, cutover, go-live, and hypercare.
• Translate business requirements into technical specs and support data migration (material masters, BOMs, routings, open orders).
• Maintain interfaces to MES and shop-floor systems; monitor and troubleshoot daily data flows.

About the Role

The SAP ABAP specialist is a hands-on developer who builds and supports the client's SAP S/4HANA environment at its new manufacturing site in Hutto, Texas. The role focuses on manufacturing processes, especially PP and MM, and on connecting SAP with shop-floor and MES systems, working closely with local users and the Taiwan headquarters IT team. The ideal candidate has hands-on ABAP development experience, including at least one full S/4HANA implementation (not just support or code remediation), a strong manufacturing background, and is ready to work onsite to help build SAP from the ground up at a new facility.

Key Responsibilities

ABAP Development

• Design, develop, test, and maintain RICEFW objects: reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
• Build ALV and custom reports for production, inventory, purchasing, and finance users.
• Develop enhancements using BAdIs, user exits, and the Enhancement Framework.
• Use S/4HANA development tools (CDS views, AMDP, OData) to improve performance and reporting.

S/4HANA Implementation

• Take part in the end-to-end S/4HANA implementation for the Hutto site: design, build, testing, cutover, go-live, and hypercare.
• Translate key-user business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
• Support data migration of material masters, BOMs, routings, and open orders.

Manufacturing Processes (PP & MM)

• Develop and support solutions for production orders, BOMs, routings, MRP, goods movements, inventory, and purchasing.
• Work with Manufacturing and Supply Chain to keep SAP aligned with how the plant actually runs.
• Design, build, and support interfaces between SAP, MES, and other shop-floor systems using IDoc, BAPI, RFC, and OData.
• Monitor interfaces and resolve failed messages to keep production data accurate and real-time.
• Troubleshoot SAP issues and provide day-to-day user support.
• Partner with Taiwan HQ IT and SAP consultants on rollouts, upgrades, and enhancements.
• Maintain technical documentation and follow change management and transport procedures

Qualifications

Required

• 3+ years of hands-on ABAP development (RICEFW, ALV, forms, enhancements)
• At least one full S/4HANA implementation, not only support or code remediation
• Manufacturing experience, especially with PP and MM
• Integration experience between SAP and shop-floor / MES systems (IDoc, BAPI, RFC, OData)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills with business and technical teams
• Able to work fully onsite in Hutto, Texas

Preferred

• Electronics or hardware manufacturing experience
• S/4HANA development with CDS views, AMDP, RAP or Fiori
• Experience with a new site or greenfield SAP rollout
• Data migration tools (LSMW, Migration Cockpit, BDC)
