Job summary

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer with strong technical expertise in ABAP development and functional knowledge of Plan to Produce (P2P) / SAP Production Planning (PP). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting SAP applications across ECC and S/4HANA environments, with a focus on manufacturing and production processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. ABAP Development

• Design, develop, test, and maintain ABAP RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms).
• Develop classical, interactive, and ALV reports using procedural and Object-Oriented ABAP.
• Create and maintain module pool programs, custom transactions, and other SAP custom objects.
• Write efficient, reusable, and performance-optimized ABAP code.

2. Enhancements and Integrations

• Implement BADIs, User Exits, Enhancement Spots, and implicit/explicit enhancements.
• Develop and maintain interfaces using BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, and APIs.
• Design and support output forms using SmartForms, SAPscript, and Adobe Forms.
• Troubleshoot integration issues and ensure reliable data exchange between SAP modules and external systems.

3. Plan to Produce (PP) / Manufacturing Support

• Collaborate with SAP PP and QM functional consultants to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop and support SAP applications related to:
• Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
• Bills of Materials (BOM) and Routings
• Production Orders and Order Confirmations
• Shop Floor Execution and Manufacturing Processes
• Quality Management, including Inspection Lots and Results Recording
• Inventory Movements, including Goods Issue (GI) and Goods Receipt (GR) for Production
• Analyze and resolve technical issues affecting manufacturing and production operations.

4. SAP S/4HANA and Advanced ABAP

• Develop and enhance ABAP objects compatible with SAP S/4HANA.
• Work with Core Data Services (CDS) Views and modern Open SQL.
• Perform code remediation, custom code adaptation, and performance optimization for S/4HANA migrations.
• Follow SAP Clean Core principles and recommended development standards.

5. Testing and Production Support

• Conduct unit testing and support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Troubleshoot defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective solutions.
• Provide production support and ensure the stability of critical manufacturing business processes.
• Support deployment activities and post-implementation issue resolution.

6. Technical Documentation and Governance

• Prepare technical specifications, design documents, test cases, and code review documentation.
• Follow SAP development standards, coding guidelines, and quality assurance practices.
• Collaborate with functional consultants, business stakeholders, and onsite/offshore development teams.

Required Technical and Functional Skills

• Strong hands‑on expertise in SAP ABAP, including RICEF and Object‑Oriented ABAP.
• Experience with ALV Reports, Module Pool Programming, BADIs, Enhancements, and User Exits.
• Proficiency in BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, and SAP output forms.
• Experience with SAP ECC and exposure to SAP S/4HANA.
