Job summary

Connexions is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP specialist to lead high-impact development in the SAP landscape. The role focuses on core ABAP with OO programming, translating business needs into robust SAP solutions and interface designs.

You will design and implement EDI standards and IDOC mappings, assess enhancement needs, and define test cases for changes. Collaboration with functional teams and customers is essential to success in this senior technical position.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Core ABAP with OO programming.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical SAP solutions.
• Design and implement EDI standards and IDOC data mappings.
• Assess whether requirements require customization, development, or enhancements.
• Define test cases and execute unit tests on changes.

Responsibilities

• Participate with customer business and functional teams in design workshops/requirements gathering.
• Work with functional and other teams to translate requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
• Design and develop EDI standards and EDI/IDOC data mappings.
• Understand user and process requirements to ensure deliverables meet SAP standards.
• Design, code and modify large/complex programs as custom development or within existing apps.
• Determine if requirements are best met by customizing, development, or enhancements.
• Define test cases and run unit tests on changes.

At least 10 years of experience in Core ABAP with Oops.

• Participate with customer business and functional team in design workshops / requirements gathering.
• Work with functional and other teams to understand business requirements and translate into technical specifications and solutions in accordance with client standards and architecture.
• Ability to design and develop EDI standards and EDI/IDOC data mapping.
• Understand user and process requirements and ensure those requirements can be achieved through high quality deliverables within the SAP landscape.
• Design, code and correct large and/or complex programs and program modifications as custom development, or within an existing application.
• Understand which requirements can be achieved through customizing, system development or enhancements.
• Define test cases and run unit tests on developed, or modified system changes.
