Thorben Consulting LLC is actively seeking an experienced SAP ABAP BTP Developer to join our high-performing team. In this critical role, you’ll help drive IT modernization initiatives for our Federal Client, focusing on custom solutions, integrations, and enhancements within the SAP ecosystem—specifically leveraging SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

If you have a passion for SAP Process Orchestration (PO), Process Integration (PI), and ABAP programming, this is an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise and contribute to groundbreaking projects that impact government operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain custom ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, and enhancements for SAP systems (including S/4HANA).
• Design and implement scalable solutions using SAP BTP, with a focus on integrations and extensions.
• Leverage SAP BTP Build Process Automation (BPA) for workflow and automation development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, ensuring adherence to SAP best practices and coding standards.
• Troubleshoot, resolve issues, and provide ongoing technical support for SAP systems and integrations.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest SAP ABAP trends and BTP developments to continuously improve your skills.

Qualifications

Required

• Candidate must be a US Citizen
• Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Certification in SAP ABAP (e.g., SAP Certified Development Associate – ABAP) or SAP Fiori/SAPUI5 development is preferred.
• Proven experience with SAP ABAP BTP development, including SAP Fiori for frontend interface development.
• Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, BTP, and SAP Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with Cloud Connector and Destination Setup on BTP.
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies and familiarity with tools like ABAP Workbench and SAP Web IDE.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.

Preferred

• This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in SAP Process Orchestration (PO) Process Integration (PI) and optional ABAP programming experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge in Operating Systems Windows NT/2000/XP, Linux
• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA architecture and its features.
• Knowledge of BTP for developing and deploying SAP applications.
• Familiarity with the development environment for SAP applications.
