Job summary

Thorben Consulting, LLC is seeking a senior SAP Architect to lead upgrades, migrations, and architecture across enterprise SAP environments in the DC area. You will plan projects, manage system administration, and deliver technical solutions while advising executives on strategy and governance.

The role requires deep SAP product knowledge, real-world HANA experience, and strong communication to build trusted adviser relationships with clients.

Qualifications

• Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Minimum 10 years SAP Basis experience with multiple SAP apps.
• Proven track record in SAP upgrades, migrations and architecture.
• Strong consulting background and executive communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• SAP Upgrades and Migrations
• Technical Project Planning
• SAP System Administration
• Experience in architecting and planning SAP Upgrade and database migration projects
• Excellent track record of delivering SAP upgrades, migrations and other technical related projects
• Strong consulting background in providing both technical delivery and advisory services in a senior role
• Deep SAP Product and architectural knowledge. Evidence of thought leadership in this domain is preferable
• 'Real world' SAP HANA Experience (At least one HANA project which wasn't a proof of concept)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build 'Trusted Adviser' relationships
• Directs and participates in high-level SAP ERP enterprise architecture analysis, evaluation, design, integration, and solution development
• Apply SAP ERP Architecture expertise to design, integrate, optimize and manage customer EPR implementation
• Prepares and presents status briefings to the client’s senior executives on approach and courses of action
• SAP BASIS/HANA administration and technical core competencies for tasks including installations and upgrades, problem determination and resolution, software patching, support package application, performance tuning, and project sizing
• Participate in development of business process, strategic, systems and data models
• Develops a deep understanding of business objectives and strategies and ensures architectural vision is fully aligned with those objectives and strategies
• Applies analytical expertise to guide business leaders in optimizing their processes and streamlining their portfolio of information systems
• Advises executives on enterprise strategy, governance, solution implementation and compliance
• Facilitates work-group across stakeholder organizations to identify and define requirements, assess business processes and solution designs and evaluate technology solutions for customers

Qualifications

Required

• Candidate must be a US Citizen
• Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one
• Minimum of 10 years SAP Basis experience with SAP systems installation and administration with three or more of the following SAP applications: ECC, CRM, BI, BW, or GRC
• Certified SAP Architect prefered
• At least 10 years of experience in business process analysis/management, enterprise architecture development, systems portfolio management, enterprise solution implementations, operations analysis, enterprise governance and/or strategic planning and a background in management consulting
• The ability to communicate politely, clearly and effectively and persuade and/or influence internal customers at a high level such as senior management on matters of a technical issues
• Possess deep understanding of IT Security principals, Networking and Infrastructure architecture principles to support clients in achieving clean cloud IT Operational Audits
• Must possess excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment with minimal guidance
• Ability to relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proven track record using analytical skills to evaluate system performance, system health checks, and implementation of tuning improvements
