Job summary

Confidential is seeking reliable Sanitors to support overnight sanitation operations at a facility in Orange, Connecticut. The role involves cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, work areas, and facility spaces per established food safety and sanitation requirements.

The position requires at least 2 years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment and the ability to work overnight in a wet, cold, fast-paced setting, following detailed procedures and PPE rules.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of the 7 steps of sanitation.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize production equipment, floors, drains, walls, and assigned facility areas according to established sanitation procedures.
• Use approved sanitation chemicals, cleaning tools, and equipment safely to wash, foam, scrub, rinse, and sanitize assigned areas.
• Break down, clean, sanitize, and reassemble equipment as directed by the Sanitation Lead, Supervisor, or Site Supervisor.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, GMP, SSOP, chemical handling, Lock Out/Tag Out, PPE, and HAZCOM requirements.
• Inspect assigned areas during and after cleaning to ensure spaces are clean, organized, and production-ready.
• Report sanitation concerns, equipment issues, safety hazards or supply needs to the appropriate lead or supervisor.
• Maintain sanitation tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition throughout the shift.

A confidential employer in the food manufacturing sanitation industry is seeking reliable Sanitors to support overnight sanitation operations at a facility in Orange, Connecticut. This role is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, work areas, and facility spaces in accordance with established food safety, sanitation, and safety requirements.

Location: Orange, Connecticut

Compensation: $21.50/hr.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clean and sanitize production equipment, floors, drains, walls, and assigned facility areas according to established sanitation procedures.
• Use approved sanitation chemicals, cleaning tools, and equipment safely to wash, foam, scrub, rinse, and sanitize assigned areas.
• Break down, clean, sanitize, and reassemble equipment as directed by the Sanitation Lead, Supervisor, or Site Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a minimum of 2-year sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of 7 steps of sanitation.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, complete assigned sanitation tasks and work safely in a team environment.
• Dependable, punctual, respectful and willing to learn sanitation procedures, safety practices and facility requirements.
• Experience with regulatory inspectors (AIB, BRC, OSHA, Military, Health Department, EPA, City & County Inspectors). MS proficiency preferred
• Experience in handling food processing equipment and sanitation chemicals
• Must have good oral and written communication skills.
• Comfortable working overnight hours in wet, cold and fast‑paced production environments.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and follow chemical handling PPE and workplace safety requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling and working in wet or cold environments. Employee must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds and wear required personal protective equipment while performing sanitation duties.
