Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Sanitation Worker in Piscataway, NJ to maintain a clean, sanitary manufacturing environment. You will thoroughly clean, sanitize, and sterilize production machinery and equipment to meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

You will also clean floors, break areas, warehouses, and other spaces; keep GMPs and safety protocols; complete sanitation logs; and assist with audits or shutdowns. This contract-to-hire role pays $18 per hour and requires onsite work.

Job Title: Sanitation Worker

Job Description

The Sanitation Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe manufacturing environment. The primary duty of this position is to thoroughly clean, sanitize, and sterilize production machinery and equipment to ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Secondary responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining the manufacturing floor, production areas, warehouses, break areas, and other facility spaces as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, and sterilize manufacturing machinery, production equipment, tools, and workstations according to established procedures.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment as necessary for deep cleaning and sanitization.
• Use cleaning chemicals, sanitizing agents, pressure washers, and other sanitation equipment safely and effectively.
• Perform routine inspections of machinery to ensure cleanliness and identify potential maintenance concerns.
• Complete sanitation logs, cleaning records, and other required documentation accurately.
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and company sanitation standards.
• Ensure production equipment is ready for operation following scheduled cleaning activities.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and sanitize manufacturing floor areas.
• Clean walls, drains, storage areas, loading docks, and other facility spaces.
• Remove trash, recyclables, and production waste from designated areas.
• Restock sanitation supplies and notify supervisors when inventory is low.
• Assist with special cleaning projects during shutdowns, maintenance periods, or audits.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
