US Foods is hiring for a warehouse cleaning role in Hawthorne, CA. The position focuses on maintaining cleanliness across the warehouse, operating cleaning equipment, and supporting maintenance tasks as needed.

Role requires basic reading/writing, ability to follow directions, basic math, and prior custodial experience is preferred. Schedule is Monday–Friday with possible OT.

Qualifications

• High School education or GED preferred.
• Previous custodial experience preferred.
• Able to read and write legibly; follow orders; basic math; operate warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and clean warehouse to maintain cleanliness.
• Empty trash bins and operate trash area; use compactor when applicable.
• Pull pallets and clean product bays on a rotating basis.
• Address spills or damages per safety requirements; determine resale or disposal.
• Perform light maintenance like bulb replacement and recycling pickup.
• Prepare reports documenting cleaning schedules, spillages, and damages.
• May clean office areas, break rooms and restrooms; maintain grounds and dumpster areas.
• Operate scrubber, pallet jack and high lift as needed.

BASIC PURPOSE

Responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of division building and related property.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 3:00 pm (OT)

Location: Stock Yards - Hawthorne, CA

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sweeps and cleans entire warehouse to maintain required level of cleanliness.
• Empties trash bins and cleans trash area daily; operates trash compactor when applicable.
• Pulls pallets and cleans/scrubs product bays on a rotating basis.
• Cleans up any spills or breakages to inventoried product; recoups damages and determines if resalable or must be disposed of per government and U.S. Foodservice food safety requirements.
• Performs light maintenance duties as assigned (i.e. replacement of light bulbs, collecting recyclable materials, paper and shrink wrap collection pickup, checking freezer and cooler for leaks or ice build up, etc.)
• Prepares various reports and forms to document cleaning schedule, spillages, product damage, etc. May track and order maintenance supplies.
• May clean other areas of the warehouse and offices, to include break rooms, rest rooms, test kitchens, offices, etc.
• Maintain facility grounds and dumpster areas.
• Operates scrubber, pallet jack and high lift if required to perform duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education/Training: High School education or GED preferred.
• Related Experience: Previous custodial experience preferred.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Able to read and write legibly; able to follow orders; basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide); able to work with little direct supervision. Experience in operation of warehouse equipment to include: reach trucks, pallet jacks, sweeper, floor scrubber, bailer, hydraulic trash compactor.

Compensation

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $19.00 and $21.84 hr.
