Job summary

The T. Marzetti Top Quality Baking (TQB) sanitation team is hiring to maintain a clean, safe plant environment. You will perform daily sanitation, operate CIP systems, and support food safety initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing setting in Vineland, NJ.

Weekend work is required; forklift certification is preferred. Prior manufacturing sanitation experience and strong communication skills help ensure GMP compliance and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively – verbally & written – and work well with Team Members and Management.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and good math skills are helpful.
• Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support General Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defence Initiatives and GMPs as Priority #1.
• Maintain cleanliness of the plant and grounds and ensure daily sanitation.
• Clean all tasks based on the Seven Steps of Sanitation on all cleaning activities.
• Visually inspect other sanitation staff work and complete sanitation checklists after each wash.
• Work with sanitation manager and quality control technician to correct cleaning deficiencies.
• Assist in tear-down and reassembly of equipment for deep cleaning.
• Report equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions to a supervisor or manager.
• Set up for Production and assist with new tools or equipment for improved cleaning.
• Stay current on sanitation procedures, SSOPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Operate CIP system and provide feedback on sanitation challenges and process improvements.
• Participate in root cause analysis for recurrent sanitation or microbiological issues.
• Apply safety rules regarding PPE and follow all food safety policies.
