Job summary

Hawaiian Host Group is seeking a sanitation associate to uphold sanitation standards in our food processing environment in Hawaii. The role starts with an evening shift (4:00 PM) and requires adherence to SSOPs, proper chemical usage, and prompt corrective actions for deficiencies.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, experience in a food processing facility is helpful, and knowledge of CGMPs. Flexibility with DAYS, evenings, and weekends is needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in a food processing facility is preferred.
• Knowledge of CGMPs is preferred.
• Able to read, understand, interpret, and apply written instructions.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.
• TB clearance from a medical provider as required by the State of Hawaii.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily sanitation duties as described in SSOPs.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for performing and complying with company sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP’s).

Night Shift Schedule: Starts at 4:00 PM

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs daily sanitation duties as described in sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP's).
• Mixes proper and correct chemical usage during cleaning.
• Reviews daily sanitation deficiency findings and takes corrective actions.
• Performs post-operational swab testing.
• Regular attendance is required for the position.
• May be called on during off‑duty hours to assist with emergencies related to sanitation activities.
• Performs all duties and maintains all standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school graduate or GED.
• Experience in a food processing facility; previous sanitation experience helpful.
• Knowledge of cGMPs.
• Able to read, understand, interpret, and apply written instructions.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, incl. days, evenings, and weekends.
• TB clearance from valid medical provider as required by the State of Hawaii, Dept. of Health.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs. constantly; 25-50 lbs. frequently; greater than 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach and grasp with hands and arms; climb stairs; hear; occasionally balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; occasionally talk, taste, or smell.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. frequently; 25-50 lbs.; up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The employee is not exposed to weather conditions.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in the production areas. Hearing protection is required in areas where noise level is relatively high.
