Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Sanitation Associate in Reading, PA to maintain a clean, safe production environment within a food manufacturing plant. This contract role offers year-round work, potential overtime, and a path from temporary to permanent for strong performers.

You will follow GMPs, operate sanitation tools, and support food safety by adhering to procedures and coordinating with team members across shifts.

Qualifications

Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to work overtime and in different areas as needed.
English language proficiency to read, write, and follow instructions.
Commitment to GMPs and food safety.

Responsibilities

Clean baking equipment thoroughly in preparation for oncoming shifts.
Dispose of trash and refuse to maintain a clean environment.
Spot clean production and common areas and respond to sanitation calls.
Wash tools, parts, and items in washdown rooms per standards for quality and safety.
Apply salt to outdoor surfaces and assist with snow removal during winter months.
Follow GMPs and safety practices in a food manufacturing environment.
Operate small hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely for sanitation tasks.
Follow written and verbal sanitation procedures and safety instructions.
Maintain high attention to detail and work safely and efficiently.
Support other areas as needed and arrive on time for shifts.
Coordinate cleaning activities through effective team communication.
