The City of Savannah is hiring a Solid Waste Worker to support the Sanitation Department. You will perform residential refuse collection, yard waste, bulk items, recyclables, and litter removal from City streets and rights-of-way.

No prior experience is required. Position involves lifting up to 40 pounds and working Mon–Thu from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 1809 W. Hwy 80, Garden City, GA. A background check and medical screen are required prior to employment.

Qualifications

• Performs manual labor in day-to-day Sanitation Department operations.
• Requires ability to lift items up to forty (40) pounds.
• Background investigation and pre-employment screening required.

Responsabilités

• Collects household refuse and recyclables.
• Directs traffic as needed and assists truck operator with backing and routing.
• Operates hydraulic lift and press; assembles and maintains refuse carts.
• Cleans vehicles and equipment at end of route.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
