Job summary

The City of East Point is seeking a sanitation worker to perform routine heavy manual labor as part of a sanitation crew. You will work under the direct supervision of the Sanitation Foreman and contribute to timely garbage collection in outdoor environments.

Main duties include delivering and retrieving carts, loading refuse, cleaning trucks, and supporting street maintenance when needed. High school diploma or equivalent is required, with safety awareness essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Delivers garbage carts for new City residential sanitation customers; retrieves carts when service is discontinued.
• Picks up carts and loads contents onto rear-loading sanitation truck; cleans debris from collection site; may handle special requests as directed by the Sanitation Foreman.
• Cleans sanitation truck daily.
• May assist other Public Works divisions in maintenance of City grounds and streets.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
