Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking an onsite sanitation associate to ensure proper sanitation of production areas and equipment while maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant operation. You will follow all sanitation guidelines, work with the Master Sanitation Schedule, and support timely log entries and reporting.

Responsibilities include cleaning floors, drains, sinks, and equipment, labeling chemicals, inspecting PPE, and completing special cleaning projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 to 3 years of sanitation or related experience preferred.
• Certification and/or license may be required during employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning per the Master Sanitation Schedule and maintain area sanitary.
• Clean floor drains, sinks, overheads, trash cans, and equipment ledges.
• Complete work orders and logs accurately and timely.
• Ensure chemical containers are properly labeled.
• Inspect PPE and report or replace damaged equipment.
• Complete special cleaning projects as needed.
• Maintain safe working conditions and comply with health and safety regulations.
• Follow GMP and corporate food safety and sanitation requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE

Guarantee proper sanitizing of production area and equipment. Maintain a safe, quality, and sanitary plant operation while adhering to all sanitation guidelines and following all established procedures.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform cleaning procedures required by the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and other required duties to maintain assigned areas and equipment sanitary and clean
• Clean floor drains, hand wash sinks, overheads, production trash cans, equipment ledges, etc.
• Complete work orders and logs accurately and in a timely manner
• Ensure all chemical containers have proper and legible labels on them
• Inspect personal protective equipment (PPE) used for cleaning and report or replace any damaged equipment
• Complete special cleaning projects
• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
• Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 to 3 years of sanitation or related experience
