Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a sanitation associate to help maintain a clean, safe production area and equipment. You will follow established sanitation protocols and work with a team to uphold food safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of sanitation or related experience.
• Certification or license may be required during employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning per Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and other duties to maintain sanitary areas.
• Clean floor drains, hand wash sinks, overheads, production trash cans, and equipment ledges.
• Complete work orders and logs accurately and timely.
• Ensure chemical containers have proper, legible labels.
• Inspect PPE and report or replace damaged equipment.
• Complete special cleaning projects.
• Maintain safe working conditions and comply with health and safety regulations.
• Follow DFA GMP and corporate sanitation requirements.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE

Guarantee proper sanitizing of production area and equipment. Maintain a safe, quality, and sanitary plant operation while adhering to all sanitation guidelines and following all established procedures.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform cleaning procedures required by the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and other required duties to maintain assigned areas and equipment sanitary and clean
• Clean floor drains, hand wash sinks, overheads, production trash cans, equipment ledges, etc.
• Complete work orders and logs accurately and in a timely manner
• Ensure all chemical containers have proper and legible labels on them
• Inspect personal protective equipment (PPE) used for cleaning and report or replace any damaged equipment
• Complete special cleaning projects
• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
• Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 to 3 years of sanitation or related experience
• Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment
